Could Peak Performance Coaching
Make You Even Better?

Matters’ the London Chamber of Commerce magazine September 2003

Executive Coaching
Talk to senior business people about what
the biggest barriers are to efficiency and profitability and you
will often hear about external factors such as interest and exchange
rates and other macro economic indicators. Other executives are
increasingly acknowledging the role that stress and burnout play
in eating away at an organisation from the inside by undermining
its best people.
The current proliferation of executive coaching
companies reflects the increasing tide of London’s elite who are
seeking out people to assist them in becoming even better. The coaching
community regularly hear from executives who have temporarily lost
sight of their goals, have developed limiting beliefs about their
own abilities as well as losing confidence in themselves and those
around them. Other busy people seek coaching because of an imbalance
in their lives where work dominates to the detriment of everything
else.
Peak Performance Coaching is a powerful new
paradigm that utilises the latest advances in behavioural and cognitive
psychology. Techniques such as Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
and Time Line Therapy are used in order to enhance all
areas of the client’s busy life.
NLP is a body of knowledge which has risen
to prominence over the last 20 years that explains the language
and thought processes of the brain. These discoveries are then used
to assist the client in a number of situations whether it is stress
management, breaking down fear and limiting beliefs or eradicating
unwanted behaviours.
Time Line Therapy grew out of
NLP and works by assisting clients in letting go of negative emotions
and limiting decisions as well as putting compelling goals into
the future. These processes are used by achievers around the world
from Olympic gold medallists to prominent business people. The ‘money
programme’ recently ran a feature on the UK Director of savings
from one of the top four high street banks experiencing Time Line
Therapy to let go of decisions and negative emotions
that were holding him back. His employer is grooming him for the
top of the organisation and Peak Performance Coaching is seen as
an integral part of his development.
The sessions work by using advanced questioning
techniques to reveal issues that are having a negative impact on
somebody’s life and business. Once identified these obstacles are
removed and new compelling goals are set for the future. Ongoing
tasking is given to ensure that new success strategies are maintained
and goals achieved. Clients usually meet with their coaches for
between 1 and 2 hours every fortnight. In the case of major obstacles
to progress, an intensive day long breakthrough session is also
available. This is designed for executives who have come up against
a major obstacle in the development of their career, organisation,
or in their private lives.
Both Olympic athletes
and senior business professionals are often surprisingly unclear
about their outcomes. Peak Performance Coaching brings goals to
life and engenders a sense of clarity and believability that make
the severest challenge seem possible. Executives who utilise Peak
Performance Coaching often feel that they have new perspectives
on old problems as well as increased energy and efficiency levels.
Other achievers have commented that it has allowed them to improve
their work / life balance and re-evaluate success as being something
that can be measured inside and outside the office. Ultimately,
by investing in themselves, successful people realise that they
are investing in the profitability of their business and in the
enhancement of their lives.
