Frequently Asked Questions
How can we tell that the work we do with you is going to get tangible results?
We quantify the progress that they are making
with values elicitation tools and Change Barometers. These give
our clients quantifiable feedback on the progress
being made. People that we work with invariably look and feel
happier, become more productive and experience fulfillment in all
areas of their life.
What about confidentiality?
Confidentiality and trust are the cornerstones
on which the work that we do with our clients is built on. A clients
name or circumstances will remain completely anonymous to everybody
apart from Jonathan Bowder. In addition, all client case notes although
kept to comply with best practice and relevant legislation are coded and
are never linked to a client name.
What are some of the major issues that Isis
Coaching tackles?
There are a myriad of reasons why people contact
Isis. Some clients want to work on areas outside their business
such as health & fitness and primary relationship. Others are experiencing
challenges in the work place that they feel would best be met with
the new perspectives and untapped resources that a coach uncovers.
Others simply want to guard against complacency and ensure that
they remain at the top of their field.
Is coaching the same as counselling?
No. The key distinction is that counseling
has a remedial agenda. People typically go and see a counsellor
to talk about a problem. People go to a coach to become even better
at what they do or to discover the inner resources that they have
in order to overcome a perceived problem.
How does coaching differ from mentoring?
A mentor is usually proficient in a certain field and offers that experience to the client. Mentoring involves
telling people what to do. A coach on the other hand, works with
process and structure. They facilitate through questioning and do
not need to be an expert in the client’s field of business.
As an illustration, consider that none of
the Isis team have ever set foot on a trampoline but have achieved
phenomenal success assisting members of the British trampolining
team to be the best in the world.
You say that your methods are ground breaking,
but are they safe and comfortable?
Yes. All Isis people have received world class
training up to Master Practitioner level in Neuro Linguistic Programming
and Time Line Therapy and can facilitate change in a comfortable
way. If we ever identify an issue or negative emotion that is holding
people back, this can be removed by focusing on the structure of the problem and without dwelling on the detail.
